Bye Sweet Carole is a Disneyesque horror indie game that is slated for a 2024 release.
The Bye Sweet Carole video game debuted at the 2023 Gamescom that took place earlier this year and out of everything that was presented this was the game that caught my interest.
Chris Darril’s Artwork Is Absolutely Gorgeous
Finally, a game that is gorgeous that is not a cozy game or a visual novel. Seriously, why can’t we have beautiful balanced games? If the game is beautiful the gameplay is simplified or it’s an AAA game that requires you to punch in your time. I’m not here for that.
In addition to being beautiful, it is a beautiful horror game! Stop, shut up! I’m all in!

Inspired By The Greatest Animated Movies
There’s no doubt that Disney was and is still known for their magnificent animated films. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, but for Chris Darril he pulled inspiration from the classic movie Snow White (as seen below).
Although it is not noted anywhere, I feel there’s definitely inspiration pulled from Sleeping Beauty and Beauty & The Beast but I may be wrong.
Actually, I’m not wrong as I confirmed my belief when scrolling through Instagram and found this post, you can see it below as well.
There are breadcrumbs in the hashtags. Ghibli is another fantastic animated studio that gave us Spirited Away and My Friend Totoro. As for horror game inspiration, Silent Hill, Haunting Ground, and Clock Tower are listed, giving us an idea as to what we might see when playing Bye Sweet Carole when it is released.

What is in the realm of Corolla? Will we find Carole Simmons or find out what happened to her?
I’m eager to unravel the story within this horrific fairytale video game since I’ve never experienced such a polarizing combination.
