Monster High Feature Film by Mattel and Universal Pictures

Mattel Wants To Give The New Monster High Movie The “Barbie” Treatment

The news was originally announced on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 — Mattel, has partnered with Universal Pictures and Academy Award-winning producer/screenwriter Akiva Goldsman under his banner, Weed Road, to develop Monster High, a live-action theatrical film featuring an original story based on the popular fashion dolls imagined as the children of legendary monsters.

Akiva Goldsman is the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of A Beautiful Mind (2001), whose critically acclaimed projects range from creator of The Crowded Room, showrunner of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022), and screenwriter of Cinderella Man, to producer of several films in the blockbuster Paranormal Activity franchise and the upcoming sequels to Constantine and I Am Legend.

I’ve been fascinated by Monster High since my daughters were obsessed with the dolls as kids. I’m thrilled to once again join forces with Robbie Brenner and our friends at Mattel to help bring this iconic property to life.

Mattel Film’s vision is to collaborate with leading filmmakers to make standout quality movies based on our iconic brands that will resonate in culture and appeal to global audiences. In addition to Monster High, Mattel Films has feature films in development for iconic IP including American Girl, Barney, Hot Wheels, Bob the Builder, Magic 8 Ball, Major Matt Mason, Masters of the Universe, Matchbox Polly Pocket, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Thomas & Friends, UNO, View-Master, and Wishbone. Mattel Films is also developing Christmas Balloon, a holiday family drama based on all-new IP.

The Insane Story of Manti Te’o: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist

Why can't we see that people who catfish others are terribly broken people? Most of the time these people aren't just scared of rejection. These people have been told over time they cannot and will not be loved unless they are someone else. People will say they rather be hated for who they are than loved for being someone else.

DeadPool 3 Is Now A Must See Movie!

I adore Deadpool. He is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and I am not just saying this to soften the blow, but I cannot stand how Ryan Reynolds has somehow morphed into Deadpool 24/7... more like 25/8. It is like Ryan Reynolds no longer exists and there is only Deadpool. In fact, he showcases his product, Aviation Gin in the update, but that isn't Ryan Reynolds product, that is now Deadpool's Aviation Gin.

Sweetie Candy Vigilante Awful Writing, Great Artwork

Sweetie Candy Vigilante is a honey-dipped, dark-humor infused horror/fantasy that tells the tale of Sweetie, an ethereal, beautiful, charming, well-meaning (yet unquestionably unhinged) blood relative of the mythological "candy man"...you know, the dude that takes the sunrise and sprinkles it with dew? Yeah - that guy.
