The Gray Man Netflix Movie
The Gray Man is available on Netflix | Rating: PG-13 | Runtime: 2 Hours and 9 Minutes | Based on Books

Alright, you probably have probably seen or heard about this movie. Some people are tying it to Marvel and some people have no clue what this movie is about. If you look at the reviews you will see that the critics hated it but the public loved it.

The Gray Man written by Mark Greaney

The Gray Man is not a Marvel Movie

Despite having actors from the MCU and involvement from the Russo Brothers this movie is not a Marvel production. This action thriller movie is actually based on a book series titled A Gray Man written by Mark Greaney.

There are 12 books within the series. You can find the movie on Netflix.

You’re probably wondering, what is a “gray man”?

According to Premeditated Survival — A/The Gray (Wo)Man is a person who can blend in with the crowd and be easily overlooked, unnoticed, and forgotten. It’s used for personal protection and to allow you to move freely in otherwise difficult surroundings. It’s a method of urban camouflage and disguise that can be used with or without any additional props.

The Gray Man Movie Cast

I saw a lot of reviews about this movie and most of them were not favorable, but I still wanted to see the movie because I am one of those Ryan Gosling fans along with wanting see Ana de Armas. The first time I saw Ana de Armas was in that not-so-good movie with Ben Affleck, but I felt she definitely has star quality.

I am going to try and not spoil anything but I cannot guarantee this so please proceed at your own risk.

I love this

The opening scene is beautiful. The fashion, the fun, the color grading and Ryan Gosling, Six Sierra kicking ass in a punchy suit was awesome. After the beatdown Six learns something he of course wasn’t suppose to know and the adventure begins.

When Six enters into some sort of gaming clan practice, FaZe Clan? The rgb was and smokiness of the scene was stellar.

Then the scene where they are trying to take out Six is just insane but feels like it was modeled after Call of Duty it just needed to add some chickens to the set.

We are taken all over the globe. This is cool for those of us that can’t travel we can live vicariously through the movie to see these incredible sights.

We learn why Six was in prison… I didn’t know he was in prison previously, maybe I missed that but the story was sad, yet they glossed over it quickly but made sure to implement it in the ending for impact.

Honestly, if they were to turn this movie into a video game I would be one of the firsts to pre-order. I cannot stress enough how much I loved all the action and excitement.

I didn’t like this

Chris Evans aka America’s ass was hilarious, but for the wrong reason. I am not one of those people that believe that once you have played a character for so long you can’t be another. I was very interested in seeing Chris as a villain.

His character, Lloyd Hansen, was supposed to be this insane lunatic that will do anything to get the job done. He was definitely not a gray man as he was using excessive force and still failing time after time. It was like watching Wile E Coyote chasing the Road Runner.

My favorite part is when he is torturing Billy Bob Thornton and he does this weird ear twisting thing that was reminiscent of something a bully in second grade would do. I actually paused the movie because I couldn’t stop laughing. He does some other torture techniques that are so lame that I whole-heartedly believe they told him to google “How To Be A Movie Villain” and he skimmed it and ran with it.

Regé-Jean Page & Jessica Henwick are the leaders of this whole scandal and its beyond ludicrous because you expect me to believe Regé-Jean Page does anything besides groom himself all day and did they spend all of their fashion budget on Chris Evans? Homegirl was looking like social case worker that you meet when you are applying for EBT. No offense to my social workers out there.

The script and dialogue. It is so boring, flat and corny. I feel that it definitely hurt the actors ability to portray a genuine character. I have never seen the show that Regé-Jean was in, but I am sure he can do better than what was showcased in this movie.
